  • QUALIFICATIONS:

    Associate or Bachelor Degree in Sonography

    Active status in ARDMA( American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) certification

    RMDS-OB/GYN preferred

    PERSONALITY TRAITS AND SKILLS

    Proficient in 20 week anatomy scans, dating, growth and general gynecology sonography

    Empathetic and compassionate

    Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

    Prioritizes safety and client/family experience

    Excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate with midwifery team

    Desire to impact a small organization in a positive way

    The full time sonographer position is responsible for the acquisition and analysis of sonographic images in birth center clients. The sonographer will perform a range of OB/GYN scans ( dating, anatomy, growth, BPP/AFI, gyne) and present their images, calculations, and measurements to the provider for diagnosis and treatment plan development. In addition to performing the expected skills of a sonographer, this position is required to provide the highest quality experience for the client and family throughout the entire encounter. The sonographer will work alongside Certified Nurse Midwives and Registered Nurses at the birth center clinic to provide a trauma- informed, compassionate, and holistic healthcare experience.

    Adheres to the birth center model of care and philosophy of holistic care, trauma-informed care, and informed consent

    Explains sonographic procedures to clients, answering questions, ensuring consent prior to initiating scan

    Prioritizes the client experience with warmed gel, comfortable and considerate positioning, family inclusion and clear communication

    Complete and thorough exam to detect any abnormal or high risk complications or pathology

    Ensure clear images for diagnostic and documentation purposes

    Present sonograms and preliminary findings to the CNM

    Complete the appropriate documentation

    Maintain and clean the sonographic equipment
