Birth Center

Midwifery care with a focus on people

  • Low-risk pregnant people are welcome to start their prenatal care with us, or transfer into our care.

  • Birth inside a freestanding birth center is possible for folks who have established care with us prenatally. We are able to have birth in our center for low-risk clients between week 37-42 weeks.

  • Postpartum care with our midwives means more time healing and bonding. Our midwives will see clients 4 times in the first 6 weeks post birth. Newborns benefit from adjacent care, where we can offer the same tests and screenings that are a part of safe infant care.

  • Our well body care is a great fit for people looking to have a client-centered experience for annual exams, or preconception care. You are welcome to establish care with us prior to becoming pregnant, or if you never plan to become pregnant.

    Starting With Us

We are looking forward to meeting you! Our midwives are committed to learning about your and your preferences. We’ll spend the first appointment getting to know you, reviewing your medical history, and discussing questions you may have. If you are just learning you are pregnant, know we can be a place where you receive your prenatal care from the start.

    Transferring Care

Moving your pregnancy care to a new provider can feel like a big change, especially if you have been with your provider for years and years! We hope to establish a nurting and trusting relationship, and part of that will be learning about why birth center care sounds attractive to you. We hope people who consider transferring to OBC will feel the difference from their first appointment. If you are curious about transferring, we plan to accept clients even into their 3rd trimester!

Through every step of your care, we will meet you right where you are at. If you are looking for additional resources to help with preparing for birth, learning about newborn care, or professional referrals once you are home with your infant, our team is here to help you and our aftercare is ongoing.
